This course explains the current technical knowledge and engineering approaches for the design of buildings, information of building codes and standards, the role of design professionals, and solutions for design problems. The course also provides step-by-step design procedures for the various components of a structure as well as designs of light-frame homes to resist lateral loads from wind and earthquakes.
